Settlement schedule by payment method
Updated 4 days ago
Different payment methods have different settlement timings. This article breaks down when you receive payouts for each payment method Billplz supports.
Settlement schedule table
Payment method | Settlement timing | Notes |
|---|---|---|
FPX (Online Banking) | Next business day | Applies to both B2C and B2B transactions |
E-wallets | Next day | Includes weekends and holidays |
Card payments | T+2 business days | Two business days after collection |
Instalment | Wednesday & Friday | Twice weekly payout schedule |
Key:
- Next business day = T+1 (one business day after collection)
- T+2 = Two business days after collection
- Real-time = Immediate settlement upon transaction completion
General payout rules
Regardless of payment method, these rules apply to all payouts:
- Minimum payout: MYR 1.00
- Processing window: Anytime between 00:00–23:59 on the payout day
- Public holidays: If the payout day falls on a public holiday, the payout is processed on the next business day
- Weekend collections: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday collections are grouped and paid out on Monday (except e-wallets, which settle next calendar day including weekends and holidays)
- Bank transfer timing: After Billplz processes the payout, your bank takes an additional 1–2 business days (MEPS-IBG) to credit your account
All times are in UTC+08:00 (Kuala Lumpur timezone).
Payment method details
FPX payments
FPX payments (both B2C and B2B) settle on the next business day following the standard Billplz payout schedule.
E-wallet payments
E-wallet payments (DuitNow QR, Boost, GrabPay, Touch 'n Go, ShopeePay) settle on the next calendar day, including weekends and public holidays.
All e-wallet providers supported by Billplz follow the same settlement timing.
Card payments
Card payments (Visa, Mastercard) settle on T+2 business days — two business days after the collection day.
Card payments have a longer settlement period than FPX due to:
- Chargeback risk management
- Card network processing requirements
- Additional fraud protection measures
Instalment payments
Instalment payments (Grab PayLater, Atome) settle twice weekly on Wednesdays and Fridays.
This differs from other payment methods because:
- Instalments involve split payment schedules
- Settlement is grouped by day of week rather than daily processing
- Both Grab PayLater and Atome follow the same payout schedule
