Visa & Mastercard migration
Updated 3 days ago
On 28 August 2026, Billplz is migrating Visa and Mastercard card payments to a new payment platform. This migration applies to all merchants who accept card payments through Billplz. Your card rates, settlement schedule, and transaction history remain unchanged, the main action required is enabling the card payment option in your dashboard.
About the change
1. What is changing on 29 August 2026?
Starting 29 August 2026, Billplz will process all Visa and Mastercard transactions directly. Currently, these transactions are processed via third-party processors. Because of this change, all members must migrate their collections to Billplz direct processing before 29 August 2026.
2. When will the migration take place?
This change brings critical benefits to you:
- Faster payout: your MYR and non-MYR daily collection limit (DCL) will be credited to your account in MYR within T+2 business days.
- Lower transaction fee: refer to https://main.billplz.com/pricing for a detailed breakdown of MYR and non-MYR transaction fees.
- More reliable payments: a direct connection means fewer points of failure and a smoother checkout experience for your customers.
3. Who is affected by this change?
All Billplz members who accept Visa and Mastercard payments. If any of your active collections offer Visa and Mastercard as a payment method, you must complete the migration for those collections.
4. Are other payment methods affected, such as FPX?
No. This change applies to Visa and Mastercard transactions only. All other payment methods on your collections continue to work as usual.
How to migrate
5. What do I need to do to migrate?
Just three simple steps:
1. Sign in to your Billplz account.
2. Click on ‘Payment Method’ for each active collection.

3. Select ‘Billplz Card’ and click ‘Save’. Done! 🎉

7. How long does the migration take?
Instant!
8. Is there any cost to migrate?

No. You do not need to make any code or integration changes. You only need to update the payment method setting in your Billplz account.
10. How do I know my migration is successful?
After you click 'Save', all bills under that collection will show 'Visa & Mastercard'. This confirms the collection has been migrated to Billplz direct processing.
Deadline: and what happens if you miss it
11. When is the deadline?
The migration must be completed before 29 August 2026.
12. What happens if I do not migrate before 29 August 2026?

13. Can I still migrate after 29 August 2026?
Yes. You can complete the same three steps at any time, and Visa and Mastercard payments will resume once the migration is done. However, we strongly encourage you to migrate before the deadline to avoid any interruption for your customers.
